Negligence and fault are no longer the grounds for a lawsuit. There are a number of lawyers who "stalk" cases. They look for people with assets and insurance policies. These people then become a target and will often find themselves involved in a lawsuit at some point. Contingent fees drive lawyers to seek out a case. They will find a reason to sue anyone who has money.
